June 16 Peace from God If you want to experience the peace from God, you have to have a very strong relationship with Him. This relationship comes from the time you spend with God, reading His words, speaking and listening to Him, all these help you to build that relationship with Him. For everyday, we are busy with work, we meet lots of people, we hear different voices, we have to handle different situations, but if we can spend sometime in the moring with God, read whatever He leads us to read, pray on our knees in a quiet place just like what Jesus did, then He will give us directions, focuses, strength and peace. If you want the peace for all day long, you should begin with the peacemaker.
Does that mean we won't have any problem then? Certainly not. It means either with or without problems, in the middle or avoiding them, there is an awesome peace from God that makes us possible to have a joyful heart in any circumstance.
Then how do we maintain a sense of peace and spiritual balance when trails strike? The answer is found in a close, abiding relationship with Jesus Christ. An unshakable peace is available to all who turn the eyes of their hearts to Jesus. Chances are that when adversity strikes, one of the first things we do is to wonder why. Then we may question what kind of impact it will have on our lives. These questions are normal, but we also need another response, and that is to turn to the One who holds all comfort and security firmly within His grasp. No one, outside of God, is equipped to handle our problems. He never meant for us to be strong on our own. He wants us to find courage and hope and strength in Him and His Words. Apart from Him, what we will have is just anxiety which is the opposite of peace.
Paul admonishes us: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6, 7). God knows all our feelings. He knows who wounds us, He knows the hurt we have experienced, He knows what we need in what time, He knows our right way for the future, He knows what's the best for us......only what we should do is turning to Him, keeping an intimate relationship with Him, then the peace from Him will be given to us as a gift and also we will find mercy and grace, forgiveness and hope, strength and everlasting security.
