July 07 Wait for God Waiting is not an easy thing, and our fast food culture doesn't make it easy. How's waiting good for us? Dr. Charles Stanley told us his story when his mother taught him to plant a little garden. They planted the seeds, watered, then waited. But after two days, Dr. Stanley saw there was nothing changed then he went to the garden and dug it out. Then he got the first lesson of waiting from his mother. Becasue you plant seeds, you have to give it time to grow. And the truth is it is one of the most important biblical principles in the entire world of God.
The mistake idea that lots of people have is waiting means doing nothing. That's not ture at all. Waiting basically means I remain my position until I get the further instruction, it means I'm willing to wait until He gives me the direction. It is a purpose of waiting.
The reason God wants us to wait is sometimes, God needs time to get our circumstances lined up so that what He and I agreed on will take place. And also He needs time to change our wrong attitude, shift things in our life that doesn't belong to us. It is a matter of giving God time to get us ready to show us His will. Sometimes we need to be quiet, let God just do His things, then He will give you instructions, He will give you directions, He will enable you, He will equip you for the battle that you need. Since He knows everything about the future, so we have to wait for His signal, this is the time to move. When we wait for Him, we submit ourselves to His time schedule, then He makes His awesome promise, acts on our behalf.
Then what is required of us to that? First of all, we have to trust Him. If we don't trust Him, we won't trust His schdeule, we won't trust His timing, we won't trust His purpose, we won't trust His ways, then we will step ahead of Him. Second is patience. Faith and patience go hand on hand. Patience isn't doing nothing, patience is the capacity to wait. Not to react, not to move ahead until God gives further direction and guidence. The third, of course it takes courage. When sometimes it looks everything that demands you move right now, all the voices you hear say move on, do it now, do not wait, you may lose your opportunity. It takes courage to be quiet and to wait upon Him.
Waiting on God, trust in Him is one of the most awesome principles in scriptures and He will bless us every time you wait on Him. Comments (20)
